The John Deere 42” / 107cm Edge Mulch cutter deck is specially designed as a mulching deck for fitment to various John Deere lawn tractor power units. The ‘clean’ underside allows optimum airflow for the circulation of the clippings around the deck which helps to ensure that the clippings are cut into small pieces for a neat finish.
If the cutting conditions aren’t right for mulching, you can quickly remove two inserts from the deck which will open up the back of the cutter deck and allow the clippings to be rear discharged.
There is no side discharge on this cutter deck which means that you can cut up to lawn edges and obstacles using both sides of the cutter deck and, overall, the mower will take up less storage space than an equivalent side discharge deck.
Adjustable anti-scalp wheels are fitted to this deck to allow the cutter deck to follow the contours of your lawn and minimise scalping.
When the mowing is done, the handy wash port allows you to clean the underside of the cutter deck from the comfort of your seat. Simply connect your hose, turn on the water and then engage the blades to clean out grass clippings from inside the deck.
