Capable of cutting branches up to 100mm in diameter, the GTA40 features a genuine 1/4" PM3 STIHL saw chain which gives a clean cut and the variable chain speed allows full control of the cutting speed during use.
The GTA40 has a sprocket cover with side-mounted chain tensioning and automatic chain lubrication. The oil tank is fitted with a tool-free tank cap and has sufficient volume for discharging three pairs of fully charged batteries.
A soft rubberised handle and upper grip helps prevent slipping during use. For safety, the ridged area at the top of the tool separates the upper grip area from the cutting chain.
The GTA40 can be used by both right and left-handed users thanks to the rocker switch on both sides of the tool.
An attachment ring lets you hook the tool on to a belt or lanyard for easy access whether you are working in the air or on the ground. The GTA40 can also be secured around the lower handle.
The GTA40 uses two AS2 batteries (sold separately or supplied with the purchase of a GTA40 Set) which are discharged in parallel. The GTA40 cannot be used with only one battery. The charge level indicator is located on the top of the tool in an easy-to-read position and will show the charge status of the battery with the lowest state of charge when both batteries are fitted. If just one battery is fitted (in the top port), the charge level indicator can be used to show the charge level of that battery.
Using an AL5-2 high-speed charger (sold separately or supplied with the purchase of a GTA40 Set), you can quickly recharge two AS2 batteries simultaneously in 50 minutes.
The working time of the GTA40 is up to 50 minutes or 190 cuts of 5cm diameter.
Please note - the GTA40 must be used two handed and is only certified for aerial use by trained arborists wearing suitable personal protective equipment.
